Check Out These Bright Beverages
There is no way around it. When you follow the Bright Line Eating® lifestyle you are likely eliminating a majority of the beverage options you once consumed (See What Can I Drink on Bright Line Eating®). But good news. Living life in a right size body does not mean saying goodbye to enjoyable drinks. Here are 17 specific Bright Line Eating® drink ideas I think you may enjoy.
Via Bom Dia Vanilla Bean Flavored Coffee
Via Bom Dia Vanilla Bean Coffee tastes so good because this organic coffee company flavors its coffee naturally using 100% real spices. No bad chemical tastes here. Just a smooth vanilla flavor from actual vanilla beans. If you are used to the artificially flavored coffees, you will not find the vanilla flavor in this coffee quite as intense. This is a more subtle vanilla flavor that comes through. My favorite time to enjoy a cup of this is right after lunch.
Hint Water Blackberry
Do you ever just want something different than plain water? Hint Water’s blackberry flavor may be what you’re looking for. This drink has just a hint of blackberry flavor (thus the name) without any sugar or artificial sweetners. It is not carbonated so it can be a great option when you are exercising and need to hydrate more quickly. Hint water is available at a number of stores near me so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding it. And although I haven’t tried it, they now also offer a caffeinated version called Hint Kick.
Celestial Seasonings Wild Berry Zinger Tea
This Celestial Seasonings Wild Berry Zinger is one of my go to herbal teas. It has a delicious berry flavor which sets it apart from your standard black or green teas. And it is a Celestial Seasonings brand so it is available just about everywhere and at a very affordable price. Wild Berry Zinger is also a hibiscus tea which makes it one of the healthiest teas you can drink. I tend to drink it hot, but this also makes a nicely flavored iced tea as well.
La Croix Sparkling Water Berry
The La Croix brand is probably the most recognizable name in sparkling water. Fortunately, this category of sparkling beverages with no sugar or artificial sweetener has exploded the last few years and there are lots of brand names from which to chose. I find that a flavored sparkling water with a meal helps me to feel more full when I’m done eating.
Starbucks Cold Brew Coffee
If you need some quick caffeine on the go and you enjoy iced coffee, try Starbucks Cold Brew Black Coffee. I am not a cold brew coffee guy myself, but my oldest daughter is and this is one of her favorites.
Vahdam Loose Leaf Tea Sampler
If you’ve never been a big hot tea fan, it may be because you have never tried loose leaf tea before. The bagged tea we buy (especially here in the States) can be stale, tea dust without much flavor. Loose leaf tea, on the other hand, tends to be fresh and full of flavor. As an introduction to loose leaf tea, try this sample pack from Vahdam Tea.
S.Pellegrino Sparkling Mineral Water
S.Pellegrino is a sparkling natural mineral water bottled in Italy. Add a slice of lemon to this uniquely flavored water and you have nicely refreshing beverage. If you’re looking for some Bright Line Eating drink ideas to add some elegance to your next dinner party, S.Pellegrino is a nice way to go.
Celestial Seasonings Peppermint Tea
Another very affordable herbal tea option is Celestial Seasonings Peppermint. This one is pretty straight forward. Peppermint is the only ingredient and that is all you need. This is a wonderful after dinner drink option. I especially enjoy this tea during the holidays when peppermint flavors are popular. And, of course, if you have a green thumb and grow your own peppermint you can just make your own tea.
Avoiding sugar and artificial sweeteners can make it challenging for the athlete used to consuming sports drinks. Enter Glaceau SmartWater. This is a zero calorie distilled water with added electrolytes, but no added sugar or other sweeteners.
Hazelnut Coffee by Panera Bread
If you are out and about and looking for a Bright Line Eating® drink idea, try swinging through the drive-thru at Panera Bread and grabbing a cup of their hazelnut coffee. I am part of an every-other-week men’s group that meets at our local Panera Bread and I always order a cup of this coffee (I also make sure that I eat breakfast at home before I go). Their hazelnut coffee is now available to make at home in either a K-Cup (pictured) or in a traditional bag of ground coffee.
Honest Tea Unsweet Lemon Tea
For a nice prepared tea try Honest Tea’s Unsweet Lemon Tea. This organic black tea has a twist of lemon and is a great option for for a bit of a pick me up on the go. You can often even find this if at a gas station or convenience store so this can be a good choice when on a road trip.
Honest Tea Unsweet Peach Ginger Tea
If you want a caffeine free option, try Honest Tea Unsweet Peach Ginger Tea. This organic tea is has a very nice flavor and is a very different flavor from most of your other bottled tea options. Also a good road trip option.
Polar Lime Seltzer
One of our favorite Bright Line Eating® drink ideas is just to purchase a 2-liter bottle of flavored seltzer or club soda. This is one of the most affordable options for home consumption. We buy whatever is on sale. Be careful because some of these bottles tend to really overflow when their opened.
Bigelow Sweet Dreams Herbal Tea
Spindrift Lemon Sparkling Water
Spindrift sparkling water is a bit unique. It actually has some juice added to it, but a very small amount. An entire can only has a few calories. This gives you a slightly stronger flavor than some of the other infused sparkling waters. This brand is also sold at several national fast casual restaurants and coffee shops. It can be a nice option when you go out to eat.
Good Earth Sweet & Spicy Herbal Tea
This Good Earth Sweet & Spicy Tea is one of my wife’s favorites. It is caffeine free so you can enjoy it after dinner. It is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy and you’d never know you were drinking something with no added sweetener.
Homemade Infused Water
Looking for an inexpensive alternative? One of the ways you can spruce up ordinary water into something more enjoyable is to infuse it with some natural flavors. Just throw some water in an Instant Pot along with some fruit, herbs, spices and/or cucumbers. This is an inexpensive and enjoyable alternative to some of the bottled options at the grocery store. We don’t take the time to make this very often (but we do use our Instant Pot so much that we bought a second one this year so we can use two at a time). Here are a few infused water recipes you can try.
